History
In October 24, 1985, a group of officers engaged in international shipping companies, newly organized and established Asia Bulk Transport Phils., Inc., a shipping firm, having duly-registered with the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) in Manila, Philippines, to engage in the ownership, management and operation of vessels of international trade, including bareboat chartering manned by a full Filipino complement in accordance with new policies of the Philippine Government.
Later on, to cater to the demand for services of our Filipino officers by other shipowners/management companies, Asia Bulk Transport Phils., Inc. acquired a manning license from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to supply Filipino seafarers onboard vessels of foreign registry.
Presently, we provide selected foreign shipowners/ management companies of technically-competent, reliable, experienced, carefully selected and English-speaking Filipino seafarers to the fleet of close clients, fully-based on our experience as owner, manager and manning agency of such as chemical tankers, reefers, general cargo, bulkers, container carriers and roro, as well as fishermen of tuna long-liners aside from other types of vessels.
Self-evidently, our Filipino seafarers are skilled and well-oriented on maritime operations and proficient with the modern navigational technologies, thereby making us sustain our impetus in having the trust and confidence of our business affiliates in the shipping industry worldwide in this speedily pushing-up globalization.
In June 1999, Asia Bulk has been awarded the ISO 9002 Certificate of Approval, and currently the ISO 9001:2000 Certificate by Lloyd’s Registry Quality Assurance (LRQA) for Quality Management System applicable to the field of Crew Manning Services. In July 2003, our Certificate of Approval was transferred to Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).
